probably Sniadowo or Pisk, Poland

The members of the Pecynowicz family from Poland were all Gniazdowiczs, but they changed their surname, most likely in the late nineteenth century. Leo emigrated from Gdansk, Poland in Oct 1938, went to London, boarded a ship there on 19 Nov 1938, arriving in Melbourne, Australia on 26 Dec 1938. He met his wife, Esther Segal (nee Surgel) from Mlawa there, and married her in Melbourne in 1940.
