The Golden Century of Polish Jewry

"The wooden synagogue style developed between the mid-sixteenth to mid-seventeenth centuries, a time often referred to as the 'Golden Century of Polish Jewry'. It was a period of peace and prosperity for the Jews of modern-day Lithuania, Poland, Belarus and Ukraine at a time when they were residents of the vast former Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth."
