Great Artists Series:
Maurice Schwartz and the Yiddish Art Theatre
Maurice Schwartz was not only one of the world's foremost Yiddish actors, he was also the founder and leader of the Yiddish Art Theatre of New York.

Under his leadership, the talented theater troupe performed in many high quality Yiddish productions, always striving to maintain Schwartz's high artistic standards.

Great Artists Series:
The Magnificent Richard Tucker

Richard Tucker was one of the finest American tenors to ever grace the stage of the major opera houses of the world. He is undoubtedly the finest Jewish tenor that ever lived.

His operatic career is certainly not the only facet of Tucker's life in which he excelled, nor is it the only way he chose to express himself in a spiritual and soulful manner. He was an Orthodox Jew who served as the Cantor of a Brooklyn synagogue and, being the good and proud Jew that he was, unflinchingly gave his support to the new state of Israel. Truly this is a man who befits the word "magnificent."

Tutorial: Searching the Cemetery Databases
EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CENTER
The availability of various online searchable cemetery databases provides each of us with the opportunity to discover the burial sites of many of our ancestors. There is a group of five cemeteries located in the New York metro area that provides us with such a service. However, achieving success in our searches often proves difficult due to inherent idiosyncrasies within each database. By following this tutorial, the researcher will have a better idea of such idiosyncrasies and ensure themselves a greater chance of success.

Military Uniforms of Europe
Our Jewish ancestors were often conscripted to fight in the armies of Europe. This exhibition is a photographic display of "our men in uniform," with an identification of country the army represented and perhaps regiment.
