MIRIAM SCHWARTZMAN
David-Gorodok, Belarus
mid-late 1930s

This photo of Miriam was taken a few years before the 1938 on the right.
The inscription on the back of this photo are both in Polish and English and was sent by Mary Shwaremanovna. She wrote in Polish:
"I am presenting this photo as a memory for my beloved grandmother-- Mary Shwaremanovna."
The Yiddish inscription was written by Itke and sent to her mother. She wrote:
"My beloved mother, This is the picture of Marylen playing the role of one Czarina (empress) in the Polish school.
From me, your daughter Itke."

Miriam's parents were Chaim and Itka (nee Pine) Schwartzman.
The photo above was taken in 1938.

Three years later, Itka, Chaim and Miriam were all killed in the Holocaust.
