BARUCH AND SURA MIRYAM BLATT

Baruch Blatt was born in Zawiercie, Poland in 1869. He was the son of R'Abraham Moshe Blatt, a rabbi's family, and he was a descendant of  R' Abraham Elieazer Halewi Horowitz (R' Yaakov Yitzchak-"Ha'Chozhe," the prophet from Lublin, Poland.) In 1892 he married Sura Miryam Zylberman, born in 1872 in Lodz, Poland, the daughter of Leib Hirsch Zvi and Tauba Zylberman (Szibrnik.)

They had eight children: Sheindel (Saba), Jona, Elimelech (Meylech) Shmuel, Chaim, Dina, Dov, Golda Dora, and Yocheved.

Baruch and Sura Miryam immigrated to Palestine in 1935 with six of their children. Dina and Elimelech Shmuel stayed behind and perished in the Shoah. Their children currently live in Haifa, Israel.
