The Bosphorus is a strait, a body of water that separates the two parts
(not named Istanbul until 1930),
one side part of the Asian Continent, the other part of the European
"Quaint sailing vessels in the Bosphorus, outside Constantinopole
Harbour. In the background can be seen the city, with its numerous
Mosques and Minarets."

This edifice was built in 1768 for Sultan Ahmet III and
stands at the main gate to the Topkapi Palace.
