Rosa Burdo-Antovilska
(Antovil)


B. was born in 1880 in Vilna, Polish Lithuania, into a poor, working family.

Her father was a carpenter.

Having a beautiful voice, she performed as a prima donna in the troupes of Genfer, Lipovski. Later for a year she performed across the cities and shtetls with Kompaneyets' troupe. Later she acted  with Ben-Tsion Witler.

In the last years she returned to Vilna, where she lived by the [karger emerytur], that the Yiddish Artists Union in Poland that she used to receive in irregular remittances(?).

In 1943 she was killed at the hands of the Nazis.
