Sarah Dayen

 

 

Born on 13 April 1864 in Odessa, Ukraine.

Her father was a bookbinder.

She studied in the government school.

Possessing a beautiful voice, D. toured with a Goldfaden chorus. From there she taken by Katzman into the troupe of Naftali Goldfaden.

When she married Katzman she followed the same path to the stage as her husband, though his tour was in South America.

D. was a prima donna, and she acted in dramatic roles with Adler.

Twenty-five years ago D. withdrew from the stage.
