Born circa 1830 in
Tarnopol, Galicia, into a poor family.
He grew up in the
environment of Yosef Perl and with a great persistence
For six years he was teacher
in the Yosef Perl School in Tarnopol. Afterwards he was
invited to Brody, where he was in the local Yiddish
school, forty-two years a teacher of Polish,
calligraphy, drawing and singing.
D. wrote, [derhoypt] songs
in German, Hebrew, Polish and especially love songs
D. is the composer of the
comedy "Der khl-bunik".
