Clara Desser
(Keyla Toyba)

 

Born in 1892 in Gzhibi, Galicia.

Her father was a merchant, and her mother a retailer who sold pearls.

Her brother was a musician.

After her marriage in 1905 to Joseph Desser, she became a singer and participated in Yiddish variety productions.

D. used to travel around with her own troupes, benefiting from a franchise of her husband's name.
