1931-1969
 

H. Drimer


Born on 20 December 1883 in Galicia. He was educated in Bukovina in Talmud and in German culture. At age sixteen he went away to Vienna, where he took up with various professions, also continuing in the circles of criminals (?). Later he went around with Yiddish troupes across Galicia and Bukovina. In 1907 he immigrated to America.

Since 1902 he was an active writer. D. had in 1915 published in "Dos idishe folk" a four-act drama "Zalmen ganuar", in the "Shriftn" VII -- the one-acter "Di hant", and the first and last act of a symbolic drama "Iber ale berg" and issued in book form the drama "Mdbr" (publisher "America", printed in Warsaw 1923, [93 pp., 16°].)

D. for a certain time was a Yiddish and English "publicity man" at the "Irving Place Art Theatre", and also in other Yiddish and English theatres.
