Born in 1904 in Vilna, Polish Lithuania, into a working-class family.

From her earliest youth, see dreamed of becoming a dramatic actress.

She came to Paris in 1923 and soon found work with David Licht's dramatic group, performing character-acting and in mother roles.

In March 1943 she worked together with her husband Shlomo Fogel and their grown-up son Tuviah, who as a small child starred in the "Fiat" theatre in children's roles.

In June 1943 she was deported to Auschwitz from where she never returned.

G.'s brother was the well-known Yiddish actor Chaim Shneuer.
