   Esther Glickman

Esther Glickman was born in 1893 in Bialystok, Poland.

Her father was a carpenter.

When she was two years old she and her family came to America.

Esther completed public school and worked as a milliner.

She possessed a fine voice and became a member of a chorus directed by Gabel.

Once it happened that a prima donna got sick and G. was asked to take over her role. Glickman remained in that particular role for a short while, but she abandoned it soon after and subsequently became a character actress.

She played with various troupes in and around New York City.

In 1921 she married Michaelson, and ever since then she has performed together with her husband.
