G. was born on 4 August 1908
in New York, America.
Her father was a
She finished public school
and learned for three semesters in high school.
She participated in the
main roles of her school's productions. During a
benefit performance that her relatives had put on, she
had at the age of nine the opportunity to sing several
songs at the Lenox Theatre.
The directors of the
theatre, Jacobs and Goldberg, heard her and took her
into the troupe to act in child roles. The playwrights
Siegel and Lillian wrote into their play a special
children's role for her.
As an adult, G. acted seasons
in Baltimore's Folly Theatre, in Montreal with Hollander,
in Toronto with Hollander, in Boston with Hollander,
1928-9 in Philadelphia's Arch Street Theatre, and in
1929-30 in Satz's Folks Theatre in New York.
