1931-1969
 

Jacob Grossman

 

G. was born in 1890 in Lomza, Poland.

His father was a tailor.

In 1893 he came with his family to New York. Here he learned in a cheder and in school.

In 1904 he participated in an English dramatic club with the Educational Alliance. Two years later he founded with friends the "Hebrew Dramatic Club" (Abraham Fishkind -- regisseur) and there debuted as "Kbtsnzon".

Afterwards he performed in a professional troupe within the province. He acted for a short time in the Metropolitan Singer Hall in the Bronx, and again in the province. G. was a member of the "Industrial Union".

During the last years, G. directed and acted in non-union troupes.
