Adela Leresko
(Kerner)

L. was born in April 1886 in Lemberg, Galicia.

Her father was a second cantor in the city temple. She became engaged as a songstress at the expense of the local cultural community. She began her stage career as a chorus singer and in episodic roles in the Polish opera theatre. Through the initiative of the actor Peter Graf L. she entered into Gimpel's Yiddish theatre, where she acted year-round in first prima donna roles.

In Lemberg she became acquainted with the actor Samuel Leresko, and after her marriage to him, she followed the same path to the stage as her husband, acting, foreign songs, also dramatic roles, especially in the Gordin repertoire.
