Rosa Margules
 

 

M. was born in Fokshan, Romania. Her parents were storekeepers. She began as a chorus girl in Yuvelir's (Juvelier's) troupe, then as an actress in Treitler's troupe, and after her marriage to Yekutiel Margules she toured with him across Europe with the Yiddish theatre and vaudeville.

She immigrated to America and acted here most of the time in Yiddish vaudeville, as well as having the opportunity in legitimate theatre with Adler and wife and with Lipzin in New York, and a season in Cleveland.

M.'s name is ongenebn in the charter of Local 5.

M.'s son, Izzie Hoyrsh, is a fine arts painter; her daughter, Annette is an English actress, acting also in Yiddish with Leon Blank in Pittsburgh. Her son Sam is a journalist.
