Oziash Rozanietski

Born in 1896 in Bialystok, Polish Lithuania.

As told by Yosef Sandler, he studied in Berlin for a period after the First World War, under Professor Willi Yekl. Later he lived and worked in Paris.

When he returned to Poland, he worked as a teacher in the Bialystoker gymnasium.

In his artistic creations---according to Sandler--Rozanietski fell into a stylized and somewhat pathetic fantasy. Even the colorization of his work was eccentric.

His stay in Paris did not help the artist to free himself from the influence of his Berlin professor Yekl, compared to whom, Rozanietski's graphics were even more monochromatic.

Rozanietski was also occupied with theatrical stage design for the revisionist theatre "Gilorine".

The artist was killed during the Occupation, probably in Bialystok.
