A Christian, who came from Berlin, Germany.

In 1896, when Cesar Greenberg arranged Yiddish productions in Johannesburg (South Africa) and they had him [farfelt gezangs-kkhus], S., who there acted in a German operetta troupe, entered into the chorus of his Yiddish theatre. Soon thereafter he wrote special scenes for her in the operetta "Miriam hkhshmunit", in which she had great success, and she remained as a prima donna in the troupe, in which she acted for one-and-a-half years.

With time S. had learned Yiddish and a little Hebrew.
