SHORT BIOGRAPHIES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN
THE Yiddish THEATRE
aS DESCRIBED IN zALMEN zYLBERCWEIG'S "lEKSIKON FUN YIDISHN TEATER"
Y. was an actor and assistant regisseur for the Vilna
Troupe at its founding.
According to Noach Nachbush,
he didn't act on the stage, but probably in the
beginning of the Vilna Troupe was connected as an
Y. did much for refugees
during the time of the First World War, and he was
awarded a medal.
He -- according to Sh.
Katsherginski -- was an excellent recitator, [v'g-bilietior].
He perished at the Front in
1941 together with his nephew Yosef Sosnovik (a student
of fourteen years), whose mother, Fanye, perished at the
Front some weeks later.
