Ernestine Yungvirt
(Ferner)


Y. was  born on 3 April 1891 in Krakow, Western Galicia. 

In 1912, after her marriage to the actor Leopold Yungvirt, she joined Axelrad's acting company in Krakow. Later she acted in Czernowitz, and after that with Ziegler in Vienna. 

In 1917 she performed in Krakow working under the concession of the invalid Polman, then under the direction of Jacob, and from 1921-3 was with Baratov in the Vilna "Der fraye yidishe folksbine (The Free Jewish People's Theatre)" and in Bucharest.

Due to illness she withdrew from the stage and was in charge of a laundry in Krakow.

Her sister Fannie also acts on the Yiddish stage.
