OF ZALMEN ZYLBERCWEIG'S " LEXICON OF THE yIDDISH THEATRE"

 

Elian Debal-Shor

 

Elian studied Direction and Theatre Education at Seminar Hakibbutzim, Camera-Acting with Ruth Deiches, Acting in the Nisan Nativ Acting Studio in Jerusalem, and Theatre Studies at the Cours Simon School in Paris. She performed in student films.

Elian won the Jerusalem Foundation Prize for Best Actress for her role in the Maaleh School's play "A Little Different". On stage, she played at Nisan Nativ, at the Psik Theatre in Jerusalem, and at Lital Porat Theatre.

She performed in the Yiddishpiel productions of "The Cantor of Vilna", "Why Did the Bride Laugh?", "The Magician of Lublin", "Children from the Shadow", "20 Until 120", and in "Grains of Sand". She learned Yiddish through her work in the theatre.
