Yoni Eilat

 

Yoni is both a singer and an actor,and he is an alumnus of Beit Zvi. He has been performing for Yiddishpiel since 2004. He performed in the plays: "The Cantor of Vilna," "Why did the Bride Laugh?" "The Journeys of Benyamin the Third," "Mazal Tov Yidn!" He also participates in concerts of Yiddishpiel's "Benevolent Theatre," and has recently directed two of them: "And Now in Yiddish", and "The Tune Lasts Forever."

Yoni performed in the musical "A Kiss in the Pocket," at the Orna Porat Theatre for Children and Youth, in the musical and television program "Dafna and Dudidu, (Hop Channel) and in "Snow White 2005" in the New Israel Theatre. He produced the solo show, "Lyrics and Music: Chava Alberstein," and "A Yiddishe Madera," a salute to the Yiddish and Ladino languages in cooperation with singer Dganit Dado and author Rubik Rozental. He performs in singer Sasi Keshet's show, "Open the Gate for Us," composed of Sabbath songs, prayers, and Hasidic melodies. He held hundreds of Hebrew song nights and public sing-alongs throughout the country. He is currently completing his first disc - "Tzigainer Neshoma - Soul of the Gypsy," eleven gypsy songs in Yiddish versions with modern adaptations.
