An alumnus of the Tel Aviv
University Theatre Department (cum laude, 2004), Engel
won the America-Israel Foundation and the David Davidov
Foundation Scholarships for 2002. He is an alumnus of
the Shakespeare Acting Department of the Royal Academy
of Dramatic Arts in London (RADA), and of Camera Acting
with Ruth Deiches.
He performed in "Crime and
Punishment" (in the role of Raskolnikov), at the Malenki
Theatre, "Ein Nofim Avudim" with the Ruth Kanner Theatre
Group, "Robin Hood," at the Haifa Municipal Theatre, "Hashamashim,"
with the Hasimta Theatre, "Hateiva," with the Zygota
Ensemble, "Shichcha," at Timuna Theatre, and "Antigone,"
at the Bahir Center. He played the role of Antony in
"Antony and Cleopatra" at the George Bernard Shaw
Theatre in London (RADA).
Engel has performed with the
Yiddishpiel Theatre since 2005. He appeared in "Why Did
the Bride Laugh?," "Yashke Muzikant," "The Great
Lottery," "Gebirtig," "The Magician of Lublin," "20
Until 120," and "Children from the Shadow," in the role
of Yoram. He participates in the productions of the
Yiddishpiel Theatre's "Benevolent Theatre" around the
country.
