Jonathan was born in Haifa,
and is an alumnus of the Nisan Nativ Acting Studio. He
was awarded Scholarships for Excellence from the
America-Israel Foundation in 1999 and 2000. He was also
awarded a grant from the Haifa Theatre for Excellent
Young Actors in 2002.
He has performed at Habima
and Haifa Theatres in numerous plays, including: "Cracks
in The Concrete," "Kaddish For Naomi," "Iluf Hasorerret
(Taming of the Shrew)", "Mary-Lou," "Games in The
Backyard," and more. Also, the solo performance, "Diary
of a Madman," in Theatoroneto.
Jonathan has also appeared
in a variety of films and television series, among them
the lead role in the films, "Kololush," "Munich," (in
the role of Ehud Barak), "Michaela," Letters from
Rishikesh," "Altalena," and "Maftir."
He recently produced his
first recording of songs that he wrote, composed, and
performed.
In Yiddishpiel, he has
performed in "The Great Lottery," "The Magician of
Lublin," in which he played the cantor, a leading
singing role, and for which he won Best Actor of the
Year at the Yiddishpiel Theater Awards Ceremony in 2008,
"Gebirtig" and "20 Until 120."
