The Remarkable Zalmen Zylbercweig
and his Lexicon of the Yiddish Theatre

Zylbercweig Visits Czernowitz

From the newspaper "Der Tog"
Czernowitz, 25 August 1934

Due to the occasion of the visit of the famous writer and editor of the "Lexicon of the Yiddish Theatre" Zalmen Zylbercweig, the directorship of the Goldfaden Theatre will hold this Saturday at 4 clock in the afternoon a theater academy.

An amplified orchestra will present a potpourri of twenty-five Goldfaden motifs.

Editor Zylbercweig will bring humor to his lecture about the history of theatre.

The entire ensemble will present the audience interesting performances. Director Reisch will present a scene from the "Broder Singer."

The biggest attraction of this academy is undoubtedly the unique appearance of the celebrated artist Dr. Paul Baratoff in the one-act play by the Russian writer A. Chekhov, from "The Swan Song".

The income is intended entirely for the Yiddish theatre lexicon.
