It is highly recommended that the Yiddish and Hebrew inscriptions be read too, perhaps with the appropriate dictionary by one's side. Also many names of our martyrs are included on selected memorials.

"In lasting tribute to the countless number of men, women and children brutally murdered in Bucovina, Bessarabia, Romania and Transylvania, 1940-1945."

memorial dedicated in 1966

"In eternal memory of the fifty thousand martyrs and heroes of Czenstochov, Poland and neighbouring towns who perished together with the six million victims in martyrdom, in perpetuation of the Jewish faith, in the years of Nazi rule. O earth cover not thou their blood."



 
OZARÓW

The inscription reads:

"In memory of the men, women and children that the Nazis have deported and massacred, from the city of Ozerov on Oct. 22, 1942."

 

PINSK
Association of Jews from Pinsk and Vicinity in Montreal
memorial dedicated in 1964

"In sacred memory to the martyrdom and heroism of our thirty thousand brethren from Pinsk and the neighbouring towns who perished at the hands of Nazi tyranny, 1941-1943."

Hebrew: "To the memory of the holy and pure souls of the holy community of Pinsk and its surroundings, who were killed and murdered by the evil Nazis in all manner of brutal deaths in the years of the land’s destruction.  Do not cover their blood. G-d shall avenge their blood. "

 
KOLUSZKI AND BRZEZINY

memorial dedicated in 1963

This memorial lists the officers of the society, the officers of the society's Sisterhood as well as the officers and board members who served the society's members over a number of years.

The inscription reads: "In eternal memory of our beloved six million mothers and sisters and the Jewish communities of Koluszki and Brzeziny in Poland who were slaughtered by the hands of the Nazi murderers 1938-1945."

"For These Things I Weep -- Lamentations"
They Will Never Be Forgotten

The inscription reads:

"To commemorate the destruction of the sacred Jewish community of Yishitza. This monument everlasting is dedicated to the memory of our beloved brethren and sisters who were slaughtered on July 23, 1942...Al Kiddish Hashem...Together with six million Jews of Europe during the Nazi occupation."

"This monument has been erected in the sainted memory of our beloved brethren and their families of Rovna, Lutsk and surrounding communities who were exterminated by the Nazi beast in 1942, thereby sanctifying the name of G-d."-- dedicated by the Rovner-Lutsk Landsmanshaft, Montreal.
