P. was born on 26 January 1891 in Moscow, Russia, to well-to-do parents.

At age five he came with the family to Warsaw, Poland, where he completed a government gymnasium and went around as a listener in the university, learning Yiddish through private courses.

Participating in a motion picture, he had in 1922 acted on the Yiddish stage and became a character-comedian in Kompaneyets' troupe, with which he toured across Poland and Russia, afterwards across central and western Europe--especially France--where he also had founded....during the outbreak of the Second World War. Here he, during the Nazi occupation in Paris, he ran to Limoges. Becoming .... for Shuna's airplane, in a dash for a coach, he broke his foot and was laid out some months in a hospital. His further fate is unknown.

Besides actors and composers in the troupe, P. had for a certain time also specialized as a monologist in small art theatres.

P.'s wife is the actress Aniela (Kompaneyets).
