Rubin Chaims

From Dorothy Katz Drillich:

"I remember going to the post office to send clothing to Aunt Bailchi (-chi is endearing term in Polish). We could not send any new pieces of clothing as the Poles charged a tax on it. We wore shoes to scuff them, washed new clothes, and cut off buttons from suit jackets so they would look used."
