THE FAMILY OF LEIBE ROZING FROM ZAMBROW
cir bef 1920

Leibe Rozing
and his family lived and worked by the Rynek (town marketplace). He owned a bodega.

LEIBE ROZING
date unknown

One of his daughters, Chaja (perhaps the eldest daughter, standing in the photo above) emigrated in 1920, at age nineteen. She travelled with two other girls her age, named Rajchta Sucawicz and Chaja Finkielsztejn, both of whom were probably her cousins, who left their nearest relative named Fraim Sucawicz of Zambrow. After their arrival at Ellis Island, one would head off to the Bronx, another to Chicago, Illinois, while Chaja would remain in New York City, meeting with her uncle F. Finkelstein, who lived on Broadway in Manhattan.
