EDITH ROSENZWEIG

date and place unknown

Edith Rosenzweig was born Itke Burak in Kolno, Lomza, Russia in 1896. She was the daughter of Juszk Gerszk Burak. Juszk, or Yehuda, was probably a cousin to both my great grandfather Aaron and Chatzkel Burak, both of whom lived in nearby Lomza shtetls.

Edith immigrated to the United States, leaving aboard the S.S. Finland which departed Antwerp on 15 Nov 1913, arriving at Ellis Island eleven days later. She was seventeen years of age at the time. She was a half-sister to Anna Kamelefsky, who was Juszk's daughter with his first wife.
