freedom
"July 1944. At sundown,
Russian infantry marched into the village of Grabowka.
The neighbors and I rushed to the fence to look at the
soldiers. We offered them water, which they were
desperate for but their sergeant ordered them to keep
marching. Finally, freedom had come for Mania and me,
but for the rest of our family, it was too late."
