Flora had cousins from the Old Country who also immigrated to the United States. They settled in Connecticut and also had the Burack surname. Exactly who their common ancestor(s) was, I can't say. I don't believe they saw each other often at all. But here, at least, at the Bronx Zoo in New York on August 1, 1937, many of them, along with Flora's daughter Pearl and three of her friends, met for a summer's day at the Zoo. Also joining in is Flora's Burack cousin, Edith, and of course, Flora's husband, Harry. How I would have liked to be there! I have been in touch with one of Chatzkel's grandchild, Ken Burack, and this was only because I was interested in learning more about my family's history.

In conducting my own family research, it's amazing how many new cousins I met, and how many cousins I saw again some forty years after I became a bar-mitzvah. It was a blessing!
