Visits to our Massapequa Home

When their East New York, Brooklyn neighborhood they lived in got so bad, so unsafe, with their failing health, my maternal grandparents Flora and Harry moved into our home in North Massapequa, in Long Island, New York.

But before then, on a few occasions, we would drive them to our home from their apartment in Brooklyn to spend a nice weekend with us, especially when family, namely Artie's and/or Bernie's family, would come to us for a visit. I can recall that there was many a political discussion between my father and my uncles! My father had his strongly held opinions, as did my uncles. Still, those days were quite wonderful and memorable, to say the least!
