MORITZ HONIG IN THE AUSTRIAN ARMY

Moritz Honig, pictured above, was a soldier in the cavalry in
Merano, now in northern Italy, but at that time part of Austria. He fought for the
Austrian Army. Of course this did not prevent him from leaving Merano in a
hurry in 1939.
When he arrived in England, with his wife and child, he joined the English
Army, the Pioneer Corps, as many Jewish refugees from Nazism did.
