MORITZ HONIG IN THE AUSTRIAN ARMY
Merano, Italy
Nov 1915

Moritz Honig, pictured above, was a soldier in the cavalry in Merano, now in northern Italy, but at that time part of Austria. He fought for the Austrian Army. Of course this did not prevent him from leaving Merano in a hurry in 1939.

When he arrived in England, with his wife and child, he joined the English Army, the Pioneer Corps, as many Jewish refugees from Nazism did.
