Yetta was born to Ickiem Jakub and Chani Lai Citrin. She was a sister to Shimon Alter and Rosa Tachna, and was one ten siblings in all. In Mlawa she married Israel Mishne who was a native of Rozan in 1893. They had seven children. Two passed away as children in Mlawa; the rest, along with Yetta and Israel, immigrated to the United States.

Rosa Tachna was the last of ten children born to Ickiem Jakub and Chani Lai. Her husband Chanoch was a native of Pultusk. They had three boys and three girls. Chanoch passed away in Mlawa in 1939; Rosa at Auschwitz in 1944. Three of their children also perished in the Shoah, one in Poland in 1939. One went to Israel and one to the United States.
