The village of Ożarów is located in Kielce Gubernia in Poland. The book, Memories of Ożarów, a Small Jewish Town That Was by Hillel Adler, records the bittersweet life of the Jews of Ożarów, who had lived in Ożarów since the sixteenth century, until it was destroyed during the Second World War. Included within this exhibition are a number of stories and photos of the once Jewish inhabitants of Ożarów, that give a wonderful account of shtetl life, including the village characters, the customs, religious life, occupations, and the trials and tribulations of the inhabitants just before the war.
