Katya Adler
(Guralnik)

She was born on 25 May (A. S.) 1881 in Nikopol, Ukraine.

Her father was a merchant.

She learned in a cheder and a little Russian.

Seeing a play at the Yiddish theatre, she sensed an inclination to the stage, and she began to work her way into amateur groups.

In 1908 she traveled around in Sabsey's troupe as a professional actress, and after she married Yermiyahu Adler, she toured across Russia in Fuchler's miniature troupe, then to Constantinople, Bulgaria, Romania, Austria, Germany, and since 1926 [she has been]in Paris, where she acts from time to time.
