Esther Berg

B. was born on 18 July 1889 in Stanislawow, Galicia.

Her father was a ritual slaughterer (shokhet).

After the Kishinev pogrom a production was organized there by a lawyer's association that came under the direction of the actor Rudolf Zilberberg (Berg), which was put on with "amateurs" Goldfaden's "Moshiakhs tsaytn (The Time of the Messiah)".

B. participated in the production as "Gitele", and after that she married Berg and traveled with him to Vienna, where she began, and due to a lack of female "forces" to perform in mother roles, she has since then followed the same path as her husband.

Sh. E. from Rudolf Berg.
