Minnie Birnbaum
(Mindl Pilpel)

She was born on 20 February 1888 in Lemberg, Galicia.

She began acting in children's roles with Gimpel, and later was in Czernowitz and Bukovina with Juvelier.

Later she acted in Berlin, and from there was engaged by Thomashefsky, Adler and Edelstein, together with her sister, Pepi Lavitz, to [act in] America.

Here B. performed in a casino in vaudeville numbers together with Joseph Graper, at times in the chorus, while at times in 'single turns', given by Kapelman, and since her marriage to Louis Birnbaum, she still acts with him as a prima donna, as in 1928-9 when she acted in New York's Folks Theatre.
