 D. was born on 17 December 1891 in Koropiec, Galicia. Her father was a land lessee.

In 1908 she went away to Vienna, and a year later married a dancer. A short time afterwards, she was introduced to the comedian Max Streng, who took her onto the stage of the Yiddish theatre on Taborstrasse 12.

After the First World War, she traveled with Muni Streng, playing all over Rumania, France, Transylvania and Slovakia. Later she participated in the celebration for Molly Picon in Vienna, and also as "Makhle" in the film "East and West".

After she attended the drama school of director Viland, she founded together with Streng, a Yiddish theatre in Vienna named "Yiddish kintsler kabaret (Jewish Artist Cabaret)" (on Praterstrasse 60), where she acted for three years. D. had also participated in the first production of "Der fraye yidishe folksbine (The Free Jewish People's Theatre)" in the Berger and Karl Folks Theatre.

In 1928 she acted in Yiddish theatre [promotion=reklam] in Vienna.
