aS DESCRIBED IN zALMEN zYLBERCWEIG'S "lEKSIKON FUN YIDISHN TEATER"
G. was born in 1876 in Britshan, Bessarabia.
In 1893 he came to New York.
Here he became a tailor of
ladies' garments, and he also was interested with the
Socialist movement. Later he studied law, and in 1901
became active in the Yiddish journals. Then he
published in the "Varheyt" many articles about Yiddish
theatre, leading a struggle for a better Yiddish
In 1900 he translated
together with Dr. K. Fornberg, Zola's drama "Thérèse
for Keni Lipzin.
