1931-1969
 

Yakov Ginzburg


G. was born on 10 September 1882 into the city of Vilna, Polish Lithuania.

He learned in a cheder, in Vilna yeshivas and in a folkshul.

At age thirteen he became a tradesman.

In 1900 G. wrote a four-act drama "Opgezont", which several times was staged in Bundish circles.

In 1903 he fled the military to America, where he had, amidst a difficult struggle for his existence, written from time to time sketches, stories and articles in various Yiddish periodical editions, did various journalistic works, and writing a one-act "Der teut", which was performed by various dramatic circles.

On 8 April 1915 G. passed away.
