G. was born in Poland in the
1870s. He came to America in the 1890s.
Here G. wrote many plays
which he used to carry around to every theatre, but none
of them were accepted. So that "durkhtsubrekhn a veg",
that the plays may have been staged, he founded a
journal: "The Theatre Mirror and Theatre Friend, a a
weekly journal for every theatre [angelegenheyten],
edited by Dr. A. Goldknopf (agf)" [published number 9,
New York, from 20 February until the end of April
1909].
In the local theatre journal
G. published the first and didn't finish the second act
for his "drama of ideals and love" in four acts -- "Der
zieg fun der varheyt oder dem rb's zuhn a revolutsyoner",
and "Britsh of promis, oder di ironye fun gezents", a
drama in three acts, "Eyne fun di bilder in der groyser
sotsialer drama "Der veg fun libt, oder di alt-neye velt".
Later G. [farfirt] a process
[kegn] American theatre regisseur and director David
Belasco, which G. accused, that he had staged his play
under a different name. G. had the process [farshpilt].
From the profession, G. was
a [maszahist], and was called "Doctor". In 1920, G.
passed away in an asylum.
