Louis Silo Gottlieb
 

 

G. was born on 3 May 1874 in Jerusalem, Eretz Yisrael. in his early youth he immigrated to America, and here he partnered with Berl Bernstein, Karp and Lateiner, building the Grand Theatre in New York as a Yiddish theatre, where G. was a manager.

G. was a member and cashier in the Actor's Union, Section 2 of Local 7, then he opened, managed and acted in the first Yiddish theatre in Harlem (Orpheum Theatre on 125h Street).
