Naftali Gross


G. was born in Kolomea, Eastern Galicia, into a family which was descended from R' Gershon Kitever.

He learned in a cheder, in a school and read much German and Hebrew literature.

For a certain time he also learned in a gymnasium.

He wrote German songs and a historic drama in Yiddish.

In 1913 he left home and after wandering across several lands he settled in America, where he published songs in various editions and released several collections of songs.

G. in "Tsukunft", May 1923, he published his translation of Richard Beer-Hofmann's play play in three acts, "Jacob's Dream".
