Moyshe-Leyb Halpern

Born on 2 January 1886 in Zlotshev, eastern Galicia.

At the age of twenty-one, he began his literary career.

In 1908 he immigrated to America, where he later became popular as one of the important modern Yiddish poets.

H. translated Klabund's Chinese play "Der Kreyd-tsirkl (The Chalk Circle)" that on 24 December 1925 was staged by Schwartz and his New York's Yiddish Art Theatre, and together with Moshe Nadir, wrote a play "Unter der last fun tsls".
