YisoKhar Handfus
 

 

Born on 30 December (no year given) in Warsaw, Poland.

His parents were owners of a restaurant.

He studied in a business school and afterwards was a singer in cabarets.

In 1919 he performed in the Yiddish theatre in Berlin, debuting as "Yokl" in Richter's "Moshe khit".

Afterwards he acted for several years in western Europe, then immigrated to America, acting in the local Yiddish theatre.

In 1921-2, H. participated in the film "Kadish" and "Milyonen-gnb".

H. also wrote couplets for his roles.
