   Sonya Iris
(Feldman)
 

Born in 1892 in Odessa, Ukraine.

Her parents were pious, well-to-do.

She studied in a gymnasium and often attended the Russian dramatic theatre.

In 1910 it was her first time in a Yiddish production: The Fishzon troupe in the Bolgarova Theatre.

She was introduced to the actor Iris; later she married him.

In 1921 when she came to Rumania in Misha Fishzon's "Muster Theatre" and it [felt oys] the role of "Frume" in "Yankel der shmid (Yankel the Blacksmith)"; [bakumt zi, kegn ir mans viln,] the role.

From then on she played in the troupes of Misha Fishzon, Morris Ziegler and in 1928-9 in Vienna.
