Sol Josephson

 

He was born on 3 June 1908 in Baltimore, America.

His parents were the actors Louis and Annie Josephson..

At the age of five he sang in the chorus in the operetta "Gavriel" ["Khinke un pinke"] in Chicago with Philip and Saltshe Weisenfreund and continued acting in children's roles in the troupe in which his parents had acted.

In 1927 he began acting in adult roles and debuted with Boris Thomashefsky in Cleveland .

In 1929 he performed as a "buff-comedian" in Detroit.

In 1930-31 he traveled with the "tsheyn" of the Actor's Union.

In 1931-32 he acted in Elving's Metropolitan Theatre in Newark, and in 1932-33 was in Brooklyn's Hopkinson's Theatre.
